Kathmandu, November 4: With eyeing a cross-border development, India will help Nepal for the upgradation and renovation of holy Pashupatinath temple of Nepal. While visiting the Pashupatinath temple during the official visit to Nepal, President Pranab Mukherjee announced that Government of India will also assist in renovation and upgradation of the Ghats adjoining the Temple area.
He also said that Indian Government is happy to assist in the establishment of the Nepal-Bharat Maitri Pashupatinath Dharamshala project, which is in the implementation stage.  Following the visit, the President wrote in the Visitor’s book at the Mandir “I am very happy to be here again – at the holy Pashupatinath Mandir, a site of unique cultural, religious and historical significance.

I enjoyed participating in the special Pooja and thank the Temple Trust for the arrangements made for my visit. I offer the Pashupatinath Area Development Trust my best wishes for the success of its endeavours in conserving and maintaining this unique temple complex which is equally revered by devotees in India and Nepal”.
