New Delhi, November 7: While addressing the valedictory session of the Vigilance Awareness Week, PM Modi said that Technology has a major role to bring transparency in the system. Enlightening the importance of technology in governance, PM said that technology must be used for governance to deter corrupt practices as corruption has become creative nowadays.
Prime Minister Modi said that the use of technology for the purpose of governance would be able to provide basic necessities to common man efficiently as it has a major role to bring in transparency. "The state has to be policy driven. Things can't depend on the whims and fancies of individuals," he said.
Showing concerns towards corruption in the system, PM said "Corruption is not something we can have in our system and people who do corruption are very creative. It is therefore necessary for us to remain alert all the time," PM Modi said. "Politicians are considered as the most corrupt people in the world. This mindset deters common man from believing in us," he added.
The state has to be policy driven. Things can't depend on the whims and fancies of individuals. While making laws and policies it is essential to have a broad range of inputs. The Central Vigilance Commission observed Vigilance Awareness Week from October 31 to November 5 this year. The week is observed to generate awareness about the menace of corruption and aims to sensitize public about the consequences of corruption and the ways to eliminate it.
