New Delhi, November 9: Commending PM Modi’s economic surgical strike by banning 500 and 1000 rupee notes, the film industry and sportsmen came in support of the initiative of Prime Minister which aims to curb black money. A lot of actors, actresses, producers and directors from Bollywood and Tollywood film industries came forward to support the action of PM, congratulating and praising him for the powerful step.
First of all, Actor Riteish Deshmukh called the move as bold and welcomed the decision. On his twitter account, he called the Move by PM as bold which made the 1000 and 500 rupee notes as invalid. Actor Ajay Devgn, who is enjoying success from his latest film ‘Shivaay’ was not behind to reply on the event and called the move as a brave attempt to fight corruption.
Emraan Hashmi also took out his words for the support towards the move and said that it’s a brave move to fight the corruption. Young Bollywood icon Sidharth Malhotra felt proud to be an Indian and said that all have entered a new era today.
Among the directors, Karan Johar called the move as a masterstroke and said that with such a decision, PM Modi has hit a shot out of the stadium. On his twitter account he said, “This is truly a masterstroke move. PM hits it out of the stadium.
Also, critically acclaimed director Madhur Bhandarkar came forwards t show his support for the move and said that this will strengthen our economy by countering black money. Director Ashoke Pandit also thanked PM Modi for boosting the morale and confidence of the nation to fight inside enemies by the move. Veteran director Subhash Ghai also said that the move was in the interest of the common man and it will finish the evil of parallel economy.
The Tollywood industry was no far behind than the Bollywood one to show their views on the matter. First of all, superstar Rajinikanth made Hatts off to PM Modi for his step. He said that a new India is born with the effect of the move.
Among others, veteran star Kamal Haasan saluted PM for the move and said that the move has to be celebrated by earnest tax payers. Actor Nagarjuna also said that the move will foster the economy and check corruption, black money and fake currency rackets.
Even singers came out voicing their support for the move to fight corruption. Singer Abhijeet called the day as historic and said that country is being lead by a most honest leader. Singer Kailash Kher called the day as a historical day in the history of mankind. “This is a historical day in the history of mankind. Our nation Bharat will soon be at par with developed countries”, he said.
Indian cricket coach Anil Kumble also commended PM Modi for his step. Using cricketing terms, he said that the move is a massive googly bowled by Prime Minister. Bowler Harbhajan Singh called the step as a massive sixer by the Prime Minister and called it a brave step. Olympic medalist boxer Mary Kom called the move as a right policy saying that new notes will bring better future for the nations.
Among others, Yoga guru Ramdev and spiritual teacher Sri Sri Ravishankar also supported the move which they call as historic and congratulated Prime Minister for his move. Nobel Prize winner Kailash Satyarthi also backed the bold decision against the black money which contributes largely to human trafficking and child labour.
