In the second round she opened up a huge lead of 12-4, but Dinar came back to make it 18-18. After a point when people thought Saina would lose the match in straight games she held her nerve to win 21-18.
With both players wanting to reach the last eight of the competition the third round begin. Saina went into the third game mid-break with 11-9 lead, but she was aware of the need to be strong and not allow Dinar easy points in the final stages.
Post undergoing a knee surgery in August, Saina was not able to perform well in previous matches. Saina is yet to reach last four of a tournament having crashed out of China Open in the first round and in the quarterfinal stage of the Hong Kong Open.
