Mumbai, December 24: PM Narendra Modi on Saturday performed the Bhumi Pujan of “Shiv Smarak” and also inaugurated various projects worth Rs one lac six thousand cores, such as Metro corridors and elevated road corridors. These projects will benefit directly to the people of Mumbai and others. Addressing to the people on this account firstly said, “Even in the midst of struggle, Shivaji Maharaj remained a torchbearer of good governance.” He further said, “Shivaji Maharaj was a multifaceted personality. So many aspects of his personality inspire us.”
PM Modi futher said that Shivaji’s courage is known by everyone but there are so many more aspects of Shivaji Maharaj and we must know about it. Look at his policies on water, finance.
He further said, “Yes, Mahatma Gandhi fought the British but at the same time he fought for equality in our society.” Taking tourism, PM Modi said that every part of India has so much to offer the only need is to recognize it. PM Modi said, development is the solution to all the problems.
PM Modi also said that the strength of 125 crore Indians will bring about change in this nation. He also said that the present Government has completed all the works which were incomplete since many years.
PM Modi said that Government is very serious on curbing corruption since it is elected. He further said, “Our battle to fight corruption has been going on since the day we assumed office. A historic decision was taken on 8th November.” He also said that the opposition and some particular peoples are trying to mislead and even intimidate people but common people supported government in the battle against corruption & black money.
Speaking on the occasion at Bandra Kurla Complex, PM Modi said that the people of our country will not accept corruption and black money. He also said that Government will not spare any corrupted ones and will punish them hardly.
On this occasion, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadanavis, Shiv Sena chief Udhhav Thackrey, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, RPI chief Ramdas Athavale, Urban Development, Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation, Information & Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu and other ministers were present on this occasion.
Earlier PM Modi inaugurated the new campus of National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) in Raigad. Addressing on the occasion PM Modi said, “Constitutional amendments on GST that remained pending for years has been passed and the long awaited GST will soon be a reality.” PM Modi talking on demonetization said that it is only short term pain for a long term gain. PM Modi further promised that the government will continue to take decisions for long term gains for country not for short term political gains.
He also said, “India has earned a good name for its well regulated securities markets.” He further stated that SEBI should work for closer linkage between spot markets like e-NAM and derivatives markets to benefit farmers.
On this occasion, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadanavis, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and other state and Central government authorities were present.
