New Delhi, December 30: Information and broadcast minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday defended the policy of Demonetisation and said that it is the best vaccine to curb corruption or effective anti-scam vaccine to prevent corruption. He also termed as a biggest achievement of Modi government in the last two-and-a-half years.
Naidu further strictly said that the Government would not rest till the last rupee of black money was accounted for and removed from the system. He added that check on benaami land properties is top on the government's agenda but the opposition also needs to answer why the legislation was not cleared all these years.
Taking on the problems faced by common people due to demonetisation, Naidu said that by the end of January, things will rapidly improve and people do have faith in government and they are supporting this move.
Naidu also said that PM Modi has succeeded in bringing in attitudinal changes in the citizens of the country. Naidu gave the examples also that how PM Modi has made a common man think on why he/she should not spit on the road. Hundreds of villages are being declared open defecation free every day," he said, adding that now there was a need to change the way we look at and use money and hence the emphasis was on digital transactions.
Taking on the achievements, Naidu stated that scandal free governance, effective inflation management, increased Foreign Domestic Investments, infrastructure projects, financial inclusion, transparent resource allocation, increased accountability and transparency in governance, positive macro-economic parameters are the major achievements of government.
Naidu in the end said that the government has got only loss in various sectors when PM Modi took the office and now things have changes quickly.
