New Delhi, Dec 9: Dense fog and low to poor visibility have affected the running schedule of the trains including the Rajdhani and Shatabdi express trains coming to and going from north India since last some days.
On Friday, too, as many as 111 trains in north India have either been rescheduled or cancelled. 107 trains are running late while four trains have been cancelled due to fog.
According to a senior Railway Officer, Bhubaneshwar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express was running 24 hours behind its regular schedule; Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express was running 18 hours late; Kanpur-New Delhi Shatabdi Express was delayed by 16 hours and Magadh Express was 24 hours behind its schedule timetable.
The Railways have regulated and rescheduled 32 trains on Friday.
The air traffic from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport was near normal although the dense fog has affected the air transport also to some extent. No flight was cancelled, the sources said.
The north Indian states have been facing dense fog since past week. The weatherman says that this condition would remain unchanged for a couple of days causing hardships to the commuters and travellers in the northern states.
