Nagaur, Rajasthan, March 13: In a major development, Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh has replaced its khaki coloured knickers with brown trousers as the uniform.
The decision was taken at the annual meeting of Akhil Bhartiya Pratinidhi Sabha, the highest decision making body of the outfit, at Rajasthan's Nagaur.
RSS SarKaryavaha (general secretary) Bhaiyyaji Joshi said announced this decision at a press conference. "Trousers are more common in normal life. We are the people who move with times. So we had no hesitation to change dress code," Bhaiyyaji Joshi said.
Official twitter handle has shared this update - "SARKARYAVAH announces the change in uniform. BROWN trousers replaces Khaki shorts."
Sr. RSS pracharak J. NandKumar has shared this information through his twitter handle: "Now it is official, Yes RSS uniform has changed, says Bhaiyaji. Brown color pants in the place of khaki nikkar"
RSS is sole identity is not its niccker but its work, It is not the first time Uniform (Ganavesh) has changed, said Bhaiyyaji.
"As far as the physical training is concerned the design has been made with that point also in mind", tweets Nandkumar.
RSS members till now used to wear khaki shorts and white full- sleeve shirts folded up to the elbow, besides black caps, as part of their 'ganvesh'.
This is the forth time when the RSS has decided to match up with the social trends adopting its uniform.
