Kolkata, Mar 28: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohanrao Bhagwat said here that the RSS intended to make India prosperous, free of exploitation and full of self-respect and equality so that the whole world would chant ‘Glory to Bharat Mata”.

“We want the entire world to praise our country. We want the whole world chant ‘Bharat Mata ki Jay’. We want to make our country self-reliant, self-confident, free from exploitation and strong. For that we will have to live that Bharat in our lives”, Bhagwat said adding this will make the world look at us with respect and honour.

He was speaking at the launch of a book on the life of late Madan Lal Agrawal, co-founder of Friends of Tribal Society.

Recalling the life, personality and mission of the late Madan Lal Agrawal, Sarsanghchalak Bhagwat said that merely remembering him will not work. We must follow his path by translating his mission into our action, he said.

The RSS Chief said when we chant ‘Bharat Mata ki Jay’ we do not refer to Bharat as mere a piece of land. We take it as expression of virtues and values and when any Indian stands with these virtues and values then it is transformed into Bharat. Otherwise it would not be Bharat.

Referring to Pakistan the Sarsanghchalak said those who did not wish to stand with these virtues and values opted for Pakistan and rejected everything including all these values which had their origin there.

He said after partition, Pakistan did not stake claim over the name ‘Bharat’ because it does not accept the qualities which are in Bharat.

He said the Vedas, ‘Dev Bhasha’, ‘Aadi Bhasha’ and even the grammar of Sanskrit was created in the region that now belongs to Pakistan.

“But they (Pakistan) took their own name and left the name ‘Bharat’ for us because the virtues and values which they don’t accept are in Bharat,” Bhagwat said. With emphasis the RSS Sarsanghchalak said that it is the mission of Bharat to show the world how all these virtues and values can be incorporated in our lives.

Dr Bhagwat said that this tradition of character which is known as Hindu tradition is continued in India. You go to any country in the world it does not look like what it used to be 200 years ago. It developed, or fallen down but it is not what it used to be. India is the only country where people still live those virtues and values in their daily life. And this not just mentioned in the books. It is a matter of faith and experience. Truth, non-violence, detachment, celibacy, penance, satisfaction, and devotion to god all these virtues are found in the lives of Indian citizens even today. This life is called Bharat. This tradition is kept alive inpsite of all odds and hindrances.
