Mumbai, May 17: The 30-share S&P BSE Sensex is currently trading higher by 150.74 points, or 0.59%, to 25,803.97, while the Nifty 50 of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) rises 48.75 points, or 0.62%, to 7,909.50.
The Indian rupee on Tuesday strengthens marginally against the US dollar at 66.73, up 0.1% from its previous close of 66.74, tracking the gains in the local equity and Asian currencies markets.
India’s 10-year bond yield is trading at 7.462%, as compared with its Monday’s close of 7.454%. It opened at 7.454% and touched a high of 7.462% a level last seen on 29 April.
US crude rises 47 cents to $48.19 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude, used to price international oils, gains 24 cents to $49.21 a barrel in London.
Asian shares are mixed on Tuesday, as a jump in oil prices, a weaker yen and optimism on Wall Street helped to offset worries over China’s growth.
