New Delhi, May 30: CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella, visited India and this was his third visit to India. In a Microsoft event held in Delhi, he spoke on how technology can transform India. He also spoke on how Digital India Initiative can be helped by this tech giant.
In his speech at "Tech for good, Ideas for India" event of Microsoft, he recited couplet by Mirza Ghalib, noting that he had love for poetry along with computer science. He also said that India had the creativity of making poetry as well as technology for the world.
He explained the importance of mobile first and cloud first economy. He also shared his thought on how important is infusing cognitive technology, in the apps and services that will come in future. He also said that apps are changing massively which will augment human capacity. The CEO of tech giant called for a an innovative eye in looking at things. “When you change the way you see the world, you change the world you see,” said Nadella. He also gave an insight on how how virtual life can merge into daily and that the Bots can help doing things at ease, helping the people with disabilities too.
Minister of State for Finance, Jayant Sinha was also prsesent at the event. He said, "India can be an entrepreneurship engine. Innovate in India for the world. We are a pro poor government but we want markets to flourish here as well.” He also met Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister of Communication and Information Technology, in the morning earlier, discussing the need of greater partnership between Government of India and Microsoft in the initiative of Digital India.
This is the second High profile visit of a large global company in India, after Tim Cook, CEO of Apple.
