New Delhi, July 30: Former chairman of India’s Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC) and former deputy NSA Dr. S D Pradhan has made a shocking revelation regarding the term ‘Hindu terror’ that could spell more troubles for the Congress party and particularly for former Home Minister P Chidambaram (PC).

According to Zee News, Pradhan claimed that the term ‘Hindu Terror’ was coined by P Chidambaram when he was the Home Minister to reap the political benefits for his party.

Disclosing that the Intelligence Bureau had the firsthand information of the 2007 Samjhauta Express bomb blast, Pradhan said that the IB and JIC still have the official papers regarding the inputs on the ‘possible’ train blast.

The USA too had warned of the blast, the former officer said categorically stating that there was 100 percent involvement of Pakistan in the Samjhauta Express bomb blast and no Indian was involved in it. The probe was diverted due to political reasons, he explained.

According to IBN Khabar, Pradhan said that the LeT financier Arif Kasmani’s name was shared by the officials and the security officials had prior information on him. Kasmani is believed to have funded the train blast.

The former intelligence sleuth revealed that the investigation was twisted in both Samjhauta Express blast and the Ishrat Jahan encounter case. He said that the files that were received in August 2008, were completely changed in September-October. Pradhan insisted that the change was done due to some specific intention.

Making further disclosure, Pradhan said that the Congress-led UPA won the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, but they knew that in 2014 they could not achieve a hat-trick. In 2014, the BJP led by Narendra Modi with the strategic and logistic support of the RSS turned the tables on them with a thumping majority.

According to Pradhan, this was the sole reason that tempted the then home minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram to make changes and coin the term of ‘Hindu Terror’ in the Rajya Sabha to gain political benefits for the Congress party.

He stated that after this episode the probe in Samjhauta and Ishrat Jahan cases were given a new angle.

Pradhan described Chidambaram as a very sharp person and accused him of giving a saffron colour to the Samjhauta blast. He further said that the National Investigating Agency (NIA) was created keeping in mind a specific objective.

Chidambaram personally overlooked the hiring process in NIA. He used to pick and choose the officers so that they worked according to their boss’ wishes, Pradhan maintained.
