Hua Hin, August 12: Thailand experienced a series of twin blasts on Friday which took lives of at least 4 people and several others were injured. According to the reports, Twin bombs exploded in the upscale resort of Hua Hin which killed one woman and made injuries to about 20 others which also included nine foreign tourists.
The next two blasts struck in the popular tourist town of Phuket, while two more bombs were reported in the southern provinces of Trang and Surat Thani, where 3 people had to lose their life. The injured people mostly included German, Italian, Dutch and Austrian nationals who were admitted in the hospital after the blasts. The police and the rescue team was quick to reach the venue after the blasts according to the locals. Also, the forensic team was at the location for their bit of work. The police assured the people who were panicked and confused by the blast.
While talking to the local reporters, Prime MinisterPrayut Chan-O-Cha said, “"The bombs are an attempt to create chaos and confusion." Further, the National police deputy spokesman Piyapan Pingmuang said,"This is not a terrorist attack. It is just local sabotage that is restricted to limited areas and provinces."
Britain and Australia reacted by advising their nationals to avoid public places.Hua Hin is home to the summer palace of Thailand's revered royal family, and the firsts blasts came on the eve of Queen Sirikit's 84th birthday.
