Nagpur, Aug 21: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has praised the efforts of aviation tycoon Boeing and Tata Group for their contribution in making Nagpur city a hub of aviation in near future.
“It is a proud moment for all of us that some key parts for a Boeing aircraft are manufactured in the city,” Fadnavis said. He was speaking at the programme organised at MIHAN where he dispatched the 5000th ‘beam’ from TAL Manufacturing Solutions to Boeing. TAL is a Tata group entity.
Fadnavis reiterated that Nagpur and the Vidharbha region have rich talent along with best human resources. TAL is manufacturing the major parts for Boeing and Airbus this shows that Nagpur is turning out to be global aviation hub .
Sharing his memory during his state visit Fadanavis said, “When I was at Boeing’s headquarters in the US, I was told that this part (beam) came from Nagpur. It was a proud moment for me. TAL would be the brand ambassador of the country in the aerospace sector,” he said. Nagpur will emerge as a global cargo logistic hub and related ecosystem will be developed in near future. Many multinational companies are looking forward to taking up various business initiatives at Nagpur, said Fadnavis.
On this occasion, Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the large number of employment would be generating with this set up of the aviation industry. Nagpur does not have a crunch of talent and this project will change the prospects of the industrial section in Nagpur.
State Power Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Mayor Praveen Datke, Lok Sabha MP Krupal Tumane and senior officials of Boeing India, TAL and Tata Motors were present on the occasion.
