New Delhi, August 22: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) inked pact with Microsoft India to offer telecom and IT solutions for big businesses promoting the demand for IT and cloud services. MoU will assist audio and video needs of the BSNL's enterprise customers and government organizations.
The agreement was signed and exchanged by BSNL chairman and managing director Anupam Shrivastava and Microsoft India chairman Bhaskar Pramanik. “This strategic alliance would be non-exclusive and is aimed to leverage the domain expertise and strategic position in the industry to garner more business either as a front runner or as a support associate to provide connectivity and telecom solutions as per the need and demand of the end customer,” the BSNL statement said.

The partnership will serve government to government, government to consumer, government to business, and business to business segments. Microsoft won the bid for a request for proposal invited by BSNL from companies that have command over this area, strategic business alliances with popular companies.

According to the reports, BSNL, which was initiated on September 15, 2000, has five million wireless landline customers. The company reported a net loss of Rs. 8,234 crore for the financial year that ended in 2015 as against Rs. 7,020 crore in the previous financial year of 2013-14.
