New Delhi, Aug 30 :  For various unfulfilled demands, activists of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) staged the huge protest (Dharna) at Jantar Mantar. The protest was organised mainly for the issues pertaining to central government employees.

BMS activists working in various departments of central government such as Railways, defence, postal and local bodies had participated in the protest.  BMS expressed its concern on the bonus of central government’s employees. 

On this occasion, All India Vice President of BMS Kailash Nath Sharma along with other office-bearers were present at Jantar Mantar. Presidents and General Secretaries of all the four federations addressed the activists about various demands of employees.

Despite of heavy rains large number activists especially women participated in large numbers. BMS activists from different states such as Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Bengal and Assam have registered their protest against the labour policies of central government.

Later BMS delegation met Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya and submitted  the memorandum on various issues and  demands of central government employees. 

After listening to BMS delegation Finance Minister Arun Jaitley assured the BMS leaders that the government would soon take action on their grievances.
