Itanagar, August 5: To speed up the land acquisition process by the Army and paramilitary forces in Arunachal, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu constituted a nine-member Committee of senior officers to frame a policy under the state government. The decision was taken in a meeting of the Chief Minister with the General Officer Commanding of 4 Corps, Lt Gen D Anbu, in Itanagar on Thursday.
Chief Minister Khandu advised the committee to frame the policy in consultation with the Government of India and submit the report within one month. This policy would accelerate the land acquisition process by the Army and other paramilitary forces in the state. Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and Principal Secretary Home Satya Gopal were also present in the meeting, news agency The Arunachal Times reported.
Khandu also asked Chief Secretary Shakuntala Gamlin to create a separate Division to look into the land acquisition process for Army, paramilitary forces, SSB and other Central government organizations. He requested the Lt Gen for speedy disbursement of land compensation to the land owner. Khandu further said that the state government would extend every possible support to the Army and also assured co-operation from the people of the state.
