Guwahati/Itanagar Aug 9: In the fast and dramatic turn of events former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister and a rebel Congress MLA, Kalikho Pul’s body was found hanging today from the ceiling fan in his home.

Kalikho Pul, who was chief minister of this northeastern state for a brief period has allegedly committed suicide.

Kalikho Pul was found hanging at the official Chief Minister's residence, which he had never vacated. Sources say he had asked for time to move out of the home.

He was chief minister for about four months following the imposition of the Central Rule due to series of events. He was responsible for the ouster of the Congress government headed by Nabam Tuki. Pul headed a group of rebel Congress MLAs and formed the government with the support of the Opposition BJP.

However, last month the Supreme Court gave its verdict on President’s Rule terming it illegal and restoring Congress chief Minister Nabam Tuki once again setting the clock back.

Tuki, however, offered to pave the way for a new incumbent Congress MLA Pema Khandu thus ending the brief tenure of the Pul government in the state. All the rebels, including Pul, supported the new chief minister Pema Khandu.
