New York, September 14: Speeding up actions against Pakistan, Baloch activists gathered outside United Nations headquarters in New York, and staged protests against Pakistan’s illegal occupations in Balochistan on Wednesday. The messages such as ‘Balochistan is not Pakistan’ and ‘Stop human rights violations in Balochistan’ were displayed on the boards carried by protestors.
The event saw active participation from all pro-Baloch freedom activists and also human rights activists. The protest was popularized as Free Balochistan Movement (FBM) where a group of Baloch activists voiced for freedom and secession from Pakistan.
Their protest coincides with the beginning of the meeting of the United Nations General Embassy, and is aimed at highlighting human rights violations, alleged political killings and violence in Balochistan by Pakistani forces.
The protests comes in less than one than month after Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised concern about Balochistan, where Pakistani Army is carrying out atrocities on people. Baloch people are raising worldwide protests presently against Pakistan with a demand to free Balochistan province, an area which was captured by Pakistani forces in 1948.
Earlier, Activists of Baloch Republican Party raised slogans and staged protests in South Korean city of Busan on Monday. The activists raised slogans to end violence by Pakistan army along with slogans of Balochistan freedom. Protests also emerged in Melbourne of Australia against the Pakistan Army. Baloch Human Rights organization staged protests in Karachi to oppose the severe Human rights violations going on in Turbat city of Balochistan.
