Dhaka, September 30: With twisting the match in the last few seconds, Indian junior hockey team on Friday beat the Bangladeshi team to achieve the Asia cup on Friday. India team defeated the host Bangladesh by scoring one more goal to clinch the Asia Cup title by 5-4 score.
The 4th trophy came to India as the boys played gave a thrilling ending performance, to smash the 5th goal during the last 20 seconds. Sports Minister Vijay Goel and Home Minister Rajnath Singh also congratulated the team with congratulations messages on twitter.
The scores were locked at 0-0 after 15 minutes into the game. But the home team made opening strike to take the all-important lead. With 1 goal down, Indian team counter attacked immediately to level the scores by 1-1.
The game was poised beautifully at the end of first half with 1-1. The 2nd half began with a flurry of goals as India took the lead with 2 quickfire goals. With India on 3-2 against the host nieghbour country, a new goal for Bangladesh occurred at the later 2nd half. The home team draws the equalizer to take the scores to 3-3.
India won back the lead once again as the scoreboard ticks over to India 4-3 Bangladesh. Another goal came toward the Bangladesh side who fight back to level the scores at 4-4. With cut-to-cut competition at the end, Indian boys make an upwards turn against the Bangladesh to score the final and deciding 5th goal win the title. Hardik Singh won the 'Man of the Match' award in the big final.
