Kolkata, Jan11 : Ending the ongoing tussle with RSS state government has granted the permission for holding the public function where RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat is schedule to address the mega rally on the occasion of Makar Sankranti January 14.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will embark on his three day visit to the state of West Bengal starting from January 13. Earlier the Kolkata police had refused permission for the rally at the desired venue.
According to local media reports State RSS leadership had requested Union Home ministry to intervene as police administration was not willing to grant the permission for the same even after the due completion of processes.
The police, after considering the matter for several weeks, finally gave RSS the permission to organise the convention at Shaheed Minar ground. Bhagwat will address a public meeting in Kolkata, and take several organisational meetings in the city in January 2017.
According to Bidyut Mukherjee, in charge of RSS's south Bengal units, Dr Bhagwat will be in Kolkata on January 14 to address a public meeting. He is also schedule to hold the internal organisational meetings with Sangh pracharaks said Mukherjee.
