Mumbai, Jan 18: Ahead of the crucial civic polls in the state of Maharashtra shifting his guards from Shiv sena former MP and political heavyweight from Pune, Gajanan Babar today joined the BJP.
Babar joined BJP in the presence of state Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Pune Guardian Minister Girish Bapat. Babar who hails from Pimpri Chinchwad which is considered as a bastion of Nationalist Congress party headed by former agriculture minister Sharad Pawar. Gajanan Babar enjoys good support from the region of Pimpri Chinchwad, which is going to the polls next month.
Earlier many leaders from NCP joined BJP ahead of the assembly election of 2104. Calling it a welcome step for BJP party spokesperson Kanta Nalawade said that BJP party will get an edge With Babar's induction. Babar hails from Kikali, a village in Satara district.
