S.S. Rajamouli to launch Baahubali's prequel ‘The Rise of Sivagami’ penned by a Anand Neelakantan

Hyderabad, Jan 18 :
After the unprecedented worldwide success of National award winning film “Bahhubali:The Beginning” director S.S. Rajamouli’s Baahubali is planning to launch  the book "The Rise of Sivagami" a prequel to Baahubali , tracing the early years of Sivagami and Kattappa. Shivagami is the character played by Ramya krishna in the movie.

Famous author Anand Neelakantan will be joining this venture who has penned several bestselling books like Asura and Ajaya. The official confirmation about this update is given by Anand Neelakantan on a social media site. 

The first book of the trilogy will be published  by Westland publications is all set to hit the market in March and the book cover will be unveiled on January 20 at Jaipur Literature Festival 2017.

Informing about his unique endeavour Neelakantan said that, the prequel trilogy builds on the backstories of Sivagami and Kattappa. “In The Rise of Sivagami, you will read about her as a 17-year-old. She is an orphan who faces many challenges and the story will trace her rise to power. In the third book, Baahubali and Bhallaladeva appear as children. The trilogy will also focus on Kattappa’s early years and how he grew in stature to earn Sivagami’s trust,” Neelakantan explains.

He further added that the untold story of Mahishmati kingdom and its politics will have many new characters. “There are good, bad and ugly characters that have made Sivagami the strong woman she is,” said author.

Sharing his personal experience about the book Anand Neelakantan said that it took him around 108 days for the completion of the same. The second book is due in November. The trilogy will be in English, and soon translated into other languages he informed.

The part 2 of the movie Baahubali The conclusion had been completed its shooting and is in post production works. The movie is set for a grand release on April 28, 2017.
