New Delhi, January 19: ‘Women for Just Peace’ an organization represented by group of women hailing from Naga stepped forward to come up with solutions to tackle the issue of economic blockade which is adversely affecting the state. On Wednesday these women met Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) to discuss the solution over unrest and blockade.

On December 8, government of Manipur announced to create seven new districts which resulted in the unrest and blockade in State. This delegation submitted a memorandum which appealed for peace in the region. In a memorandum the delegation stated that the Naga-community and these women have solution to end the hardships faced by people and the State.
Due to unrest and blockade the people were adversely affected which was affecting the State and this delegation seeks to end this as soon as possible. Irrespective of the steps taken by the government of Manipur the citizens face immense hardships and difficulties due to the grave atmosphere between different groups. Their issues need to be resolved in order to bring peace.
‘Women for Just Peace’ aims towards peaceful, co-existence, progress and development of India. Linda Newmai, Dr Gina Sangkham, Dr Achan Mungleng, T Ningreichon, LM Tabitha, Thingreiphi and Wang Hring were the representatives of the organization ‘Women for Just Peace’.
The memorandum expressed its confidence on the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi which can ensure them the atmosphere of peace, honor and respect for the people of Manipur. Dr. Jitendra Singh said that government will help them to restore peace and prosperity in the State of Manipur.
