Dispur, January 20: Assam is getting shaped up in today’s developing phase. Different sectors of development like skill, employment, education, technology etc to get boost for Assam people. Assam family is all set to welcome its first ever ‘Skill city’ in collaboration with Singapore.The State government has signed the memorandum with ITE Education Services, Singapore to set up a ‘Skill City’. This is set to empower skill, employment, education, technology and various sectors. Skill city will set an example by becoming the centre of excellence for different schools of trade to cater students from Assam and North East. Minister for skill employment and entrepreneurship Chandra Mohan Patowary said that “skill training on housekeeping, bakery & confectionery etc. will be provided by faculty members of ITE Education Services, Singapore and they will visit Assam on February 13 to share their views and vision with the Government of Assam.”
The skill city will also have designing schools for creativity to provide training on graphic designing, film making and animation, video games etc. The faculty members will be roped from Japan to teach higher levels of graphics. It will also have schools on driving and floriculture where government is planning to bring in faculties from South Korea and Taiwan respectively. Besides, the Skill City will have schools on innovation and electronics too.
Encouraging the project of skill city ‘government of Assam will organize a ‘Skill Summit’ on March, 2017 to provide a platform for all the stakeholders in the skilling and employment sectors and to facilitate skill development training and placement programmes’, said Chandra Mohan Patowary.
