Bhopal, January 30: In order to encourage the digital transactions and to encourage the businessmen, union minister Jayant Sinha today inaugurated a Digi-Dhan fair in Gwalior, in Madhya Pradesh. Central Government would conduct the Digi-Dhan mela in hundred cities of the country.
‘Digi-Dhan Mela’ is a fair being organized across the country together by the Centre and the state governments to promote digital and cashless transactions. More than one dozen stalls have been put up to promote cashless transaction process and create awareness in public in this regard.
Several banks, agriculture, energy and other departments have put up their stalls to educate people about digital payment systems like mobile and online banking, USSD and UPI. Facilities like registration for POS machines, opening of bank accounts and registration for debit card are available in the fair.Banks establish booths and help centres to encourage the citizens for the cashless or digital transactions. Several telecom companies, mobile wallet operators, transport network companies, post department, cooperative committees and other committees participating in the mela.
