New Delhi, January 8: Day by day molesters and harassers are making the living difficult for other people in society. After experiencing such incidences in Air India airlines, Air India decided to keep control over undisciplined flyers by inducting plastic hand-cuffs on all the domestic flights to ensure the safety of the aircraft and other flyers.
Air India airlines is set to keep restrainers like plastic hand-cuffs to keep undisciplined firmly seated in case their behavior endangers the safety of aircraft and other passengers. Air India Chairman Ashwani Lohani said that "We used to carry restrainers only on our international flights but will now have them on both domestic and international flights. All our aircraft will have two pairs of restraining devices. The safety of passengers and aircraft is paramount. We will not compromise with that."
"Restraining a passenger is one of the last steps and should be done only if the matter is totally out of control," Air India cabin crew manual added.
A senior Official from Air India said “In-flight misbehavior is on the rise in recent times. Our pilots adopt zero tolerance for offences like sexual harassment, both of airhostesses or flyers, and hand over offenders to law enforcing agencies on landing.” These efforts are taken after considering those two molestation cases that shook the airlines. Once when on 2nd January, 2017 a flyer allegedly molested an airhostess during Muscat-Delhi flight and other case on 21st December, 2016 a flyer allegedly groped a co-passenger during Mumbai-Newark flight.
