Gandhinagar, Jan 9: On the sidelines of 8th edition of ‘Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at his home state to inaugurate the mega international event starting from January 10 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.

The biennial business summit is a brain child of PM Modi when he was Gujarat chief minister in 2003. On January 10, Modi will officially inaugurate the 8th edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit-2017 at around 3:30 pm.

After his arrival, Modi attended the bhumi-poojan ceremony for the redevelopment of Gandhinagar Railway Station. The project costing Rs 250 crore will have facilities like a five-star hotel.

Prime Minister attended the inaugural function of ‘Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show’ which spread across 1.5 lakh sq meters of area where around 15 lakh people are expected to visit over during Vibrant Gujarat. The exhibition covering more than 25 sectors is spread over 14 halls across 1, 25,000 sq mts, which is said to be the country’s largest exhibition area.

He will mark his presence at the GIFT City to inaugurate the country’s first International Exchange being set up by the BSE. Trading at the new India International Exchange at GIFT city is set to start on January 16 said BSE chief executive officer and managing director Ashish Chauhan.

PM Modi will head to Science City on the outskirts of Ahmedabad city to inaugurate Nobel Prize Series exhibition, which will feature works of nine Nobel laureates from across the world, who are invited by the Gujarat government to be a part of the Summit.

Near about 1,500 national and international delegates, heads of states and industry leader from across the world, as many as 12 central ministers and several Chief Ministers will participate in the opening ceremony. Modi will interact with various heads of state and ministers serving in different governments across the world, who are invited for the Summit.

Dignitaries like Nisha Desai Biswal, an Indian-American serving as Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs in the US Department of State. Other dignitaries are – President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta, President of Rwanda Paul Kagame, Prime Minister of Portugal Antonio Costa, Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Rogozin, first Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Poland, Piotr Glinski will mark their presence in 8th edition of ‘Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit’
