New Delhi, October 24: Six opposition parties yesterday held a meeting in National capital to chalk out a strategy to counter the government over the fallout of demonetisation.
Raja said, the meeting discussed about organizing joint opposition protest against the note-ban which will complete one year on the 8th of next month. He said, Azad will consult other opposition parties over the issue to take them onboard and finalize the schedule of the protest.
A formal announcement on their strategy will be made on Tuesday morning at a joint press conference of Opposition leaders. The parties are also expected to take a united stand against the disqualification of JD (U) leaders Sharad Yadav and Ali Anwar from Rajya Sabha.
Meanwhile, both Yechury and Ram Gopal Yadav were not present at Monday's meeting and Raja represented the Left parties.
In the Rajya Sabha, there have been nine cases where parties have moved disqualification petitions against their members. Out of these, seven were referred to the privileges committee and two members resigned before the pleas could reach that stage.
