Bhopal, October 3: To empower transgenders in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated the first community toilets for transgenders in State capital, with the help of Municipal Corporation. State government also planning to allocate Rs 1,50,000 towards construction of houses to transgenders.
He mentioned that transgenders’ panchayat will be organised shortly. Transgenders are respected citizens of India. The state government gives respect to them and the government will use their services in positive works.
He mentioned that cooperation of transgenders should be taken also to eradicate malnutrition and to spread the message of Beti Bachao Abhiyan. He further said that the administration will be instructed to take stern action against the elements who defame transgender community.
He also praised the initiative of the Municipal Corporation for showing sensitivity towards the transgenders. Displaying society’s and government’s respectful approach towards transgender community, Chouhan honoured the representative of transgender community of Mangalwara Ustad Suraiyya Nayar and Pallavi Nayar of Budhwara presenting them bouquets and also gave them Swachhgraahi appointment cards.
