Mumbai, October 6: To mark the centenary celebration of the cooperative sector in Maharashtra, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis addressed the event and congratulated BSE India for 200th SME listing and extended wishes to the team of BSE India to take this number to 2000 within 1 year. The government would strengthen the cooperative sectors playing a vital role in rural development, said Devendra Fadnavis.
Addressing the event, CM Devendra Fadnavis said that Maharashtra government will be very happy to create a fund for this listed companies. We will also set up a joint working group of the government of Maharashtra and BSE India to help and promote SMEs. Highlighting the vital role played by SMEs in the various sectors, he said that role of SMEs in India is very important. Our government has come up with SME friendly policy. This sector generates more employment after agriculture sector.
CM Fadnavis appealed to SMEs to work more towards Tourism sector. “Having completed 100 years, the Maharashtra State Cooperative Federation should now reflect on streamlining and evolving plans for next 50 years on how the cooperative sectors in the state can serve the people in villages across the state,” said CM Fadnavis. Government is doing the lot to strengthen the cooperative sector. We are bringing in discipline and transparency in this sector, which is the backbone for rural development, he added.
