IAF prepared to fight at short notice if need arises, says Air Chief Marshal on #AirForceDay

New Delhi, October 08: Indian Air force celebrated its 83rd Anniversary by throbbing air show by various aircrafts and impressive parade as well as investiture ceremony at Hindon Air Force base in Ghaziabad.
President Ram Nath Kovind has greeted the Indian Air Force on its 85th Anniversary.
In a tweet, President Ram Nath Kovind said, he salutes the valour, commitment and dedication of the brave air warriors of India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted -"On Air Force Day, best wishes to our courageous air warriors & their families. Their determination & prowess ensure that our skies are safe."
Established on 8th October 1932, Indian Air force has proved its might impressively on all the occasions. Not only during war but in peace time as well, IAF has shouldered its responsibilities. The Indian Air Force is celebrating its 85th anniversary today. The force was formed on 8th October, 1932. The main function was held at the Hindon air base near Delhi today with parade and air display. Addressing the ceremony, Chief of Indian Air Force Air Chief Marshal B S Dhanoa said, the Air Force is prepared to fight at short notice if the need arises. He said Indian Air Force will always be at the forefront be it terror attacks or during natural calamities. Air Chief Marshal Dhanoa said, the force is committed to Make in India and the ongoing indigenisation efforts will take pace. He said that the Air Force was acquiring multi-spectrum strategic capabilities and remained committed to building a joint manship with the Indian Army and the Navy. Dhanoa said security of all Air Force stations have been enhanced to combat any threat, including sub-conventional threats, after the terrorist attack on the IAF base station in Pathankot last year. The Air Force Chief paid tribute to the Marshal of the force Arjan Singh who passed away recently. He also paid tributes to five IAF crew members and two Army personnel who died in the line of duty on Friday in a chopper crash in Arunachal Pradesh. Our Correspondent reports, a scintillating air display by various aircrafts was the hallmark of the Air Force Day Parade.
