These are: education, health and well-being, employment and opportunity, participation and engagement, and ASEAN awareness, values, and identity," Philippines' National Youth Commission (NYC) Chair Aiza Seguerra said.

The ASEAN Youth Development Index Report is a product of the collective efforts of the ASEAN Member States. The AYDI will focus on areas which need greater attention and further investment for development of Youth. The main vision of this index is to make significant contributions for the youth. Leaders are optimists that it will help to take more relevant youth policies, conceptualization of programs, projects and activities. More importantly, development in economic sectors and youth participation is hoped.

“It is our fervent hope that the ASEAN Leaders will give their go signal to adopt the AYDI as an important reference document determining a better ASEAN youth landscape,” an official statement read.
