London, November 15: While Russia is being heavily criticized for its alleged meddling in US Presidential election 2016, it is getting blamed for interfering in British Politics too. A University in Britain has discovered that more than 400 fake Twitter accounts believed to be run from St Petersburg published posts about Brexit.
Another social media giant Facebook also commented on the same issue on Monday. “To date, we have seen nothing to indicate that the known clusters that we saw in the US election did anything in relation to Brexit or the general election.’ Facebook vice president of EMEA said. Though it clearly did not mention the name of Russia the phrase “known clusters” clearly indicate to Russia.
‘I have a very simple message for Russia: We know what you are doing and you will not succeed, because you underestimate the resilience of our democracies, the enduring attraction of free and open societies, and the commitment of Western nations to the alliances that bind us,’ British Prime Minister Theresa May said.
