Rhythm of Olympics knocks Japan; Tokyo Olympics countdown clock unveiled

Tokyo, November 17: Japan is totally drowning in Olympic fever. In 2020, Japan is hosting one of oldest games of World. A 3-meter-tall countdown clock for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics was unveiled in Tokyo on Thursday. This clock will count the days until the game starts.

The clock resembles the sun emblem on Japan’s national flag. It is designed in red color. The red circle is held up by a silver pillar bearing the 2020 Olympics' official pattern. The clock is also bearing the logo of Omega. Omega is the official timekeeper of the games since 1932.

"I am very proud to announce and show you our first countdown to the (Tokyo) Olympics," Christophe Savioz, president of Swatch Group (Japan) KK involved in the installment of the clock.

This Olympics will feature a record 33 sports and 339 events. Last time Tokyo hosted the Olympics in 1964. Last month, in Tokyo’s Nihonbashi district people, gathered to mark the countdown. The bronze winner in the women's 48-kilogram category at last year's Rio de Janeiro Olympics, Hiromi Miyake hosted a talk show. A commemorative event was held at Narita airport.
