Iranian fight against terrorism won’t stop: President Hassan Rouhani

Tehran, November 22: After declaring with pleasure that Iran’s Islamic state era has ended, President Hassan Rouhani says that Iran will continue its fight against terrorism, the state won’t stop fighting.

 

This statement of Iran’s President was given before going to Sochi for tri-lateral talks with Russia and Turkey on the terrorism in Syria and also to discuss the future and security of the region. President Rouhani said, "We are not after tension in the region. The Americans, the Zionists and unfortunately certain countries, whose rulers have recently been empowered and are under their (the US and Israel's) inductions, are after tension in the region."

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani declared the end of Islamic State on Tuesday in an address broadcast live on state TV. This means that the terrorist front has collapsed and the terrorists hold no more territory to claim control and rule, although they will continue to operate for a while in the form of little terrorist groups.

Meanwhile General Soleimani senior commander of Iran Revolutionary Guards hailed the “great victory” over Daesh which was materialized thanks to the prudent leadership of Ayatollah Khamenei and the sacrifices of all resistance fighters in Iraq and Syria, reports Press TV.

Soleimani also praised the commitment of the Iraqi and Syrian nations, governments, armies and popular forces throughout the counter-terrorism battles. He paid special homage to the endeavors and struggles of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units, better known as Hashd al-Sha’abi, in the offensive to annihilate Daesh.

The general also thanked Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement for its “powerful presence” and the pivotal role it played on the battlefield against terrorists in Syria.
