Chennai, Nov 22: Actress Trisha Krishnan is all set for her new role of UNICEF celebrity. On November 20, the International organization UNICEF collaborated with Veteran actress Trisha Krishnan for the cause of Child Empowerment. Trisha will be the first South Indian actress to join hands with UNICEF for the noble cause.

 

The gorgeous Trisha will address the issue faced by children in Tamil Nadu and Kerala region. She will participate and extend her support for the irradiation of social issues such as Child marriage, labor, and child abuse. Famous for her exemplary screen presence, Trisha has acted in 64 films, including 38 in Tamil, 23 in Telugu and one each in Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Expressing happiness over the new social venture, Trisha said, "I would support the efforts of the government to make Tamil Nadu malnutrition-free and open defecation free," The ace actress took to Twitter and announced the new development.





Addressing the gathering, Chief of UNICEF office Tamil Nadu and Kerala Job Zachariah congratulated Trisha for joining the social drive of UNICEF. Describing Trisha as a ‘youth icon’, Zachariah asserted that the actress has a potential to raise the vital issues of child rights in public domain. The UNICEF regional head expressed that the versatile artist will also contribute in the field of education and health of adolescents, especially for the girl child.
