Gujarat Elections: Total 1280 out of 1703 nomination papers found valid for first phase

Gandhinagar, November 24: The first Phase of polling in Gujarat is set to begin but before that after the scrutiny of 1703 nomination papers, 1280 nomination papers have been found valid for 89 Assembly seats. The last day for withdrawal of nomination papers is on Friday.

 

The filing for the second phase of nomination papers is going on for 93 seats in North and Central Gujarat. About 132 candidates have fielded their nominations for the second phase on Thursday, taking the total number of nomination papers to160. The last day of filing of nomination papers for the second phase of polling will be on Monday.

The first phase of voting for 89 seats in 19 districts of Saurashtra, Kutch and South Gujarat will be held on 9th December. The polling for the second phase will be held on 14th December, while counting of votes for both the phases will take place on 18th December. Bharatiya Janata Party has announced its three lists and Congress have declared two lists for the elections.
