UP train derail: Three dead, Nine Injured in accident; Ex-gratia declared

Chitrakoot, November 24: In Uttar Pradesh, 12741, Vasco Da Gama- Patna Express derailed on Friday morning. Three people were killed and 9 injured in this accident. According to initial information, 13 coaches of the train derailed. The train was going to Patna from Goa's Madgaon station. 7 in CHC Manikpur, 2 referred to district hospital.

 

The accident happened due to the breakdown of the railway track. The Railway Ministry has declared Ex-gratia for the people affected in the accident. Amount of Rs. 5 lakh will be given to the family members of the deceased, Rs. 1 Lakh for Grievous Injured and for Simple injured Rs. 50 Thousand will be given.


According to the local media, the incident occurred around 4:14 in the morning near Manikpur station of Chitrakoot district. The medical team has been departed from Allahabad. UP's ADG (Law and Order) told that the accident happened due to the breakdown of the track. However, Chitrakoot's DM Shivakant Dwivedi says that the reason for the accident is not clear.


While three people have died who were the residents of Bihar. Ramesh Patel and his son Deepak Patel, who lived in Bettiah in Bihar, were killed in the accident. Many passengers were injured in the accident, which is being treated in the hospital.
