Railway facilities extends helping hands:Passengers will receive SMS on delayed trains

New Delhi, November 7: If you have packed bags and planning to go somewhere , your train is delayed and you are unaware about then here is the new facility of Indian railways. Ministry of Railways has commenced facility of information to passengers through Short Messaging Service (SMS) regarding status of trains running late by more than one hour. This facility has been made available from November 3. Initially this facility has been started for passengers booked on all Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Tejas and Gatimaan trains.

 

After introduction of ‘Swarn standard’ coaches to New Delhi-Kathgodam Shatabdi express this is an extension of facility to the luxury trains’ passengers. This scheme is levied to total 102 luxury trains in the country.

SMS giving status of late running is being sent to passengers who are boarding the trains at intermediate stations so that they can reach the station in time for the train. SMS will be sent to passengers who had given their mobile numbers at the time of booking the ticket both for e-ticket and PRS (counter) ticket.

Initially the facilities of reminder calling before your destination station arrives and sending online booked tickets through SMS were introduced which are running successful.
