Gandhinagar, Feb 10: After the grand success of vibrant Gujarat global inverter summit under the leadership of chief minister Vijay Rupani, government of gujarat is all set to organise the national convention of women sarpanch on the occasion of International Women's Day where Prime Minister Modi will mark his presence on March 8.
Central government and rural development department of Gujarat government will jointly host the event which will take place at Mahatma Mandir. According to the reports published in Ahmedabad Mirror the Chief Minister’s Office is in talks with principal secretary to the PM to visit Gujarat for the event. State government is planning to invite around 6000 sarpach from the home state.
According to state government officials near about 8,000 women sarpanches will be participating in the deliberations along with Prime Minister Modi. This will be Modi's eighth visit to Gujarat since August 2016.
Briefing about the proposed programme, Minister of panchayat and rural development of Gujarat government Jayanti bhai Kavadia said, " PM Modi is likely to visit the Women Sarpanch Sammelan on International Women's Day."
He further added that officials of state government are in touch with PMO and secretary of union panchayat ministry Parmeshwaram Aiyer will visit the host state to give final touch to the mega event.
