New Delhi, Feb 16: Piyush Goyal, the Union Minister of State (IC) launched the Transparency, Auction Monitoring and Resource Augmentation (TAMRA) portal and mobile application in New Delhi on Wdenesday.
This portal and application will enhance transparency and accountability in the Mining sector, as a part of the ‘Ease of Doing Business’. It was simultaneously launched across 12 mineral rich states with the objective to “speed up mining activity in India and facilitate all stakeholders to track the status of clearances linked to mining blocks,” Goyal stated.
“It will be an interactive platform for all the stakeholders to compress the timelines for statutory and other clearances as it would help minimize the gestation period for commencing production,” he added.
The minister also stated that in case of a delay in obtaining any clearances “TAMRA will send triggers to the concerned authority so that remedial steps can be taken immediately by those responsible.”
The portal includes various other helpful salient features, such as the receipt of triggers by the Ministry of Mines which will facilitate in expediting clearances. Further, the status of each of the clearances will be reflected on the portal.
This portal, developed by the Ministry of Mines, also enables the successful bidder to give suggestions and other inputs for improving the current process of issuing Statutory clearances in the Mining Sector.
Balvinder Kumar, Ministry of Mines Secretary, informed that TAMRA covers block-wise, state-wise and mineral-wise information of the mines to be auctioned, monitors various statutory clearances, and also highlights the additional resources generated through e-auction.
Senior officers of the Ministry of Mines and stalwarts from the mining industry were present on the occasion.
