Washington, February 18: The US President Donald Trump has said, media is an enemy of the American people. Trump has had a long-standing issue with the American press. While campaigning, he created a blacklist of seven news organizations that were banned from receiving media credentials.
Stepping up his attack on newspapers and channels that have been critical of his presidency, he said in a tweet that the FAKE NEWS media (New York Times, NBC, ABC, CBS and CNN) is not his enemy, it is the enemy of the people of the country. His scathing attack on the media came a day after he asserted that his administration is running like a fine-tuned machine and there is no chaos inside the White House as being reported by the media.
It was Trump's second attempt at the tweet. He deleted an earlier version that had problems with spacing and did not include ABC and CBS among the news organizations he specifically called out as the enemy. He also dropped the "SICK!" from the ending of his second tweet.Meanwhile, Trump's latest tweet criticising the media went viral as within a few hours it was retweeted more than 60,000 times, forwarded 60,000 times and liked by 1,01,000 people.
