Chennai, February 20: When Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswamy won the vote of trust on Saturday and proved his majority amidst ruckus, Governor Vidyasagar Rao has sought a detailed report on assembly session.The report will include all documentary and video graphic evidence.Tamil Nadu Assembly Secretary A M PJamaludeen has been directed to send the factual report of all the proceedings that took place in the House on Saturday during the motion of trust vote of Palaniswamy. The decision to seek a report came against the background of leader of opposition in the assembly M K Stalin and O Panneerselvam’s demand of nullifying their vote.
On Saturday during assembly session opposition party DMK leader MK Stalin and the other opposition leaders raised voice to back O Panneerselvam in Assembly. The trust vote session stirred to turmoil in assembly after DMK MLAs demanded for a secret ballot. The opposition party MLA climbed on the desks and raised slogans for secret ballot. Ruckus in assembly led to its adjournment and Along with 89 legislators DMK leader MK Stalin was also evicted from assembly. On Saturday Palaniswamy won the trust vote with a support of 122 MLAs.
Governor Rao will soon be releasing a brochure on the key events in Tamil Nadu beginning with late Jayalalithaa's hospitalisation on September 22, 2016 till he invited Palaniswamy to form the government. In order to take up the initiative in view of doubts being expressed about Jayalalithaa's passing away in some quarters and claims over alleged delay in taking steps for forming a new government after Panneerselvam had resigned on February 5.
