Mumbai, February 21: Jio network has brought the biggest revolution in the history of India after providing unlimited data usage to its customers a few months back. Now, Jio has again surprised all its users after announcing free domestic calls and roaming.  
Notably, Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani on Tuesday announced to kick-start the tariff plans on Jio network on a regular basis in which all domestic voice calls will always remain free and there will be no roaming charges. He also announced that Jio will now be a paid service but still it will offer the most affordable rates.

But with Jio, there will be no confusion. “After March 31, Jio will match each and every plan that other operators are offering or will offer at the same rate but with 20 percent more data,” he added.

Embeded ObjectWhile speaking at the press conference, Mukesh Ambani also announced the launch of Jio Prime membership programme that will open from March 1 and will close on March 31, 2017. Those who are already subscribers and those who join Jio before March 31, can subscribe to a year plan for a fee of Rs 99. Jio Prime members can continue to benefit from Jio New Year offer for another 12 months, the scheme will be for a price of Rs 303/month until March 31, 2018. More value plans will be announced for Jio Prime members soon and details will be on My Jio app, Ambani said.

Embeded ObjectHe further announced that Jio Prime members can also get the Jio media bouquet service free for a full year until March 31, 2018. Jio Prime members will also benefit from a lineup of deals from Jio and its partners. Those who want to get the benefit, can log on to My Jio app or on the Jio website and subscribe to the membership. One can also walk-in to any Jio store and subscribe to the membership. After announcing the further plans, Ambani promised that Jio will provide world class quantity and quality of data at prices that are affordable.

He also said that the telecom service will offer 20 per cent more data than competitors after matching their price.

Embeded ObjectFurther talking about the milestones achieved by Jio, Mukesh Ambani said that nearly seven customers joined Jio network every second of every single day which is an unprecedented level of acceptance for any company anywhere in the world. “Every single day, Jio customers make 200 crore minutes of voice and data calls. Jio users consumed more than 100 crore GB of data was consumed on the Jio network in January more than 3.3 crore of data in a day,” Mukesh Ambani claimed.

Embeded ObjectMukesh Ambani further claimed that his telecom venture Jio has crossed a customer base of 100 million. “India is now the no.1 in the world for Mobile internet usage,” he added. “Jio has risen to these heights only because of the affection and enthusiasm of the 100 million customers, Ambani said, adding that Jio users consume as much as the United States of America and nearly 50 percent of China’s users.

Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, doing business as Jio, is a LTE mobile network operator in India. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries headquartered in Mumbai, that provides wireless 4G LTE service network (without 2G/3G based services) and is the only 'VoLTE-only' (Voice over LTE) operator in the country which lacks legacy network support of 2G and 3G, with coverage across all 22 telecom circles in India.
