Imphal, Feb 24 : Taking a cognizance of the deteriorating law and order situation due to economic blockade by the United Naga Council in the state Manipur governor Najma Heptulla has urged the insurgent group to roll back the decision of blockade on humanitarian ground.
Expressing a deep concern over the ongoing protest of UNC members in the Naga dominated areas, governor has invited UNC members to discuss the burning issue with the stake holders in order to streamline the situation.
“All issues can be resolved through dialogue,” said Najma. She further requested to withdraw the agitation in the interest of the people of Manipur.
Reminding about the losses faced by people Manipur governor underlined that, the blockade has caused immense hardship to the people of the state. Ahead of the assembly polls in the state of Manipur she has requested UNC members to lift the ban for free and fair elections.
