Varanasi, Feb 28: “India has given the message of ‘world as one family’ to the humanity. It is capable of paving the way for peace with the spread of eternal life values and ethos. All religions teach same values in this world. There are many sects but the Dharma is one and its teachings are also same. Following those teaching in our life is culture. Each one has his own way of worship but that should not become rigid or fundamentalist. By imbibing values of Dharma we can shape and develop our personality”.
These views were expressed by the senior RSS functionary Indresh Kumar at a seminar on “Sarva-Dharma Samabhav evam Vishwa Shanti” organised jointly by Kashi Hindu Vishwavidyalaya, Dharma Sanskriti Sangam and Kashi Vidwat Parishad at the university auditorium on February 27.
Six brilliant students were felicitated with scholarships and scholars were honoured.
Chief Guest Vice-Chancellor of BHU Prof Girish Chandra Tripathi said that truth is the bedrock of Dharma and our duty is to establish that in the present world. Prof Yadunath Dubey, Vice Chancellor of Sampurnanda Sanskrit University said that with experiencing unity in diversity one can realise a state of equality. And India is the best example of this unity in diversity. All religions should come together to serve the humanity.
Mahamahopadyaya Acharya Bhagirath Prasad Tripathi, Prof Ashok Kumar Jain, Haji Mukhtar Ahmad Mahto, President of Sadar Bawani Panchayat, Madanpura expressed their thoughts on the unity of religions.
Prof Jay Prakash Lal introduced the Dharma-Sanskriti Sangam. He narrated the programs and activities undertaken by the organisation since its inception in 2006 including the 2008 International Sanskriti Sangam held at Kashi.
Dr Ramesh Kumar Dwivedi gave a welcome address while Prof Chandrama Pandey introduced the theme of the seminar.
Mangalacharan in Vedic, Pauranik and Bouddha tradition were presented by students of Panini Kanya Mahavidyalya, Sri Annada Gurukul, and Buddhists monks.
Indresh Kumar was felicitated by Kashi Vidwat Paraishad with prestigious “Sanskriti Purodha Samman” while Vice-Chancellor Prof Tripathi was bestowed with “Vidwat Mani” Samman.
