T20 World Cup for blind: India defeats Australia by 128 runs; registers fourth consecutive win

Kochi, February 6: Defending champions India registered a massive 128 run victory over Australia in the T20 World Cup for Blind at the Rajagiri College in Kochi on Sunday. Notably, this is the fourth consecutive win for India in this tournament and stands at the second position in its pool.
Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bat first, posted a mammoth 272 for no loss in their allotted 20 overs with openers Sunil and Muhammed Farhan hitting an unbeaten ton and an undefeated half-century, respectively. Sunil smashed 163 not out off 72 deliveries with the help of 29 boundaries, while Farhan hit 53 off 35 balls before being retired hurt.

Coming at number 3 Iqbal Jafar then scored a quickfire 30 off 13 balls to take the home team to a comprehensive win. The record partnership of Indian opening pair of 199 runs took the game away from Australians and the whole match virtually became one sided.

Chasing a mammoth total, Australia in reply scored only 144 runs and was bowled out. India skipper Ajay Kumar Reddy picked up two wickets by giving away only 11 runs in 3.3 overs. Sunil was adjudged as a Man of the Match for his spectacular knock.  Earlier, India defeated South Africa, England, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka etc. India has lost only one game by Pakistan.
