Andhra Pradesh Govt to introduce e-learning courses and assessment tests for police officials

Hyderabad, February 7: E-learning certificate courses for cops to educate them about the important Acts. For the first time Andhra Pradesh government set to launch the mandatory assessment tests for its police officials. Those who clear the test will be certified.Andhra Pradesh government plans to make its police officials aware enough by bringing e-learning courses regarding Acts relating to SC and ST Act 1989. PV Sunil, Inspector General of Police of CID said that "our Director General of Police N Sambasiva Rao has initiated this e-learning program for the police to enable them in a better way with regard to important Acts, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu will begin this program in Nagarampalem police station in Guntur district.”

The police department has set in the required budget for this program which can be extended to employees of judiciary wings also. Training will be conducted in eight identified units in Andhra Pradesh.

This initiative is first of its kind as none other academy has adopted such. This program will sensitize giving more information for the police. Professional expert Kishan Chandar, alumni of IIM Ahmedabad is all set to prepare the structures and modules of e-learning. The e-learning study will have Telugu lectures each of 40 minutes for each lessons and a 40 minute test following the lectures will be given to them. Police can answer the multiple choice questions in Telugu or English language. Prior to this DSP level cadre will be trained and afterwards the other cadres and constables will join this training.

This initiative will bring the awareness and will keep the police officers updated throughout. Such more initiatives are needed to develop the environment of intellect and awareness.
