Patna, February 9: Nitish government has cancelled the clerical examination of Bihar Staff Selection Commission following a question paper leak. These examinations were held on 29th of last month and on Sunday. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said the decision to cancel the examinations has been taken in the interest of students.
"On the basis of the preliminary report of state police chief P K Thakur and recommendation of Chief Secretary Anjani Kumar Singh, the state government has cancelled the BSSC exam for clerical grade appointment," Chief Minister said. Kumar, accompanied by CS and other officials, made this announcement after emerging from state Cabinet meeting at Secretariat.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of Bihar Staff Selection Commission Parmeshwar Ram and data entry operator Avinash Kumar have been sent to jail in connection with question paper leak of clerical examination. Earlier they were produced before a local court of Patna. The court forwarded them for 14 days judicial custody.
The SSP and chief of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) Manu Maharaj told the court will be requested to take them on police remand for further investigation. He said during the preliminary investigation it seems that the Secretary of the Commission Parmeshwar Ram is the mastermind of question paper leak. Call detail records of the secretary justifies it. Admit cards and other objectionable documents were recovered from his residence at Patna.
